Bird protection on the company premises in Lotte
On our company grounds in Lotte, there are numerous trees and shrubs that already provide habitats for many animals and insects. A number of bird species are also already guests on our premises. Many birds are dependent on support in the form of nesting aids, as there are fewer and fewer natural cavities and crevices in our forests, making it difficult for them to find suitable quarters to nest and spend the winter. So for the current breeding season, nest boxes are a sought-after home for native birds. Therefore, we have installed 15 nesting boxes in Lotte to coincide with the breeding season. With the nesting box project, we have found a simple way to do something for bird conservation.
Sostmeier puts 7 type 1 long trucks into operation
In addition to the 7 Actros models 1845 (EURO 6) we have also received brand new trailers from KRONE. Among them are seven type 1 long trucks, ten volume trailers of the Mega Liner series and three Profi Liner all-round trailers.
The 7 type 1 long trucks are used in the area of line haulage for the automotive industry.
Advantages of this vehicle type:

- Increased transport efficiency
- Reduction of road congestion due to less traffic
- CO² reduction
With the use of this long truck Sostmeier can further improve in the area of sustainability and achieve a reduction of 120t CO² per year.
The Sostmeier Group opens new branch in the Czech Republic
The Sostmeier Group strengthens its network in Eastern Europe in January with a new location in the Czech town of Zebrák. With the opening of the branch in the Czech Republic, Sostmeier continues the continuous growth of the past years. The Sostmeier group of companies is now represented with a total of 9 locations in Eastern Europe. In addition to the new branch in the Czech Republic, Sostmeier is already represented in Eastern Europe with locations in Russia, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Northern Macedonia.

Sostmeier invests in its own fleet and further increases road safety
With a total of 7 Mercedes-Benz Actros 1845 (EURO 6) in the company colour "blood orange", the Sostmeier fleet has been further modernized. The vehicles are equipped with the latest safety packages, including Active Drive and Active Brake Assist. With the help of the numerous safety assistants, the new vehicles drive at the highest safety level. Assistance systems are important helpers in the strenuous daily driving routine. The Sostmeier Group places the highest value on safety standards and is an official safety partner of the BMVI.
Change in management - Hans Schmitz-Wenzel becomes commercial managing director (CFO) at Sostmeier Spedition + Logistik GmbH
Jana Sostmeier previously managing partner of the Sostmeier Spedition + Logistik GmbH, has left the management team after 13 years and will now concentrate on her role as a partner. She will continue to be involved in essential strategic decisions.
From 07.09.2020 Hans Schmitz-Wenzel is the new addition to the management team at Sostmeier Spedition + Logistik GmbH, taking over the commercial management as CFO. The family business now in 4th generation was founded in 1927. The new look management team now comprises of our managing partner Jasmin Sotta as COO together with the newly appointed Hans Schmitz-Wenzel.
While Jasmin Sotta is responsible for the operational side of the business, sales and marketing, Hans Schmitz-Wenzel takes over the commercial management as CFO with direct responsibility for Finance & Controlling, Human Resources, IT & Project Management.
"Mrs. Sostmeier and I, are very pleased to have won Hans Schmitz-Wenzel as a further managing director for Sostmeier Spedition + Logistik GmbH," Mrs. Sotta (managing partner) explains. "With him we have gained an experienced management personality for our company. We welcome Mr. Schmitz-Wenzel and are very much looking forward to our time together".
BMVI-„Aktion Abbiegeassistent“ - Sostmeier wird offizieller Sicherheitspartner des BMVI
Bundesverkehrsminister Andreas Scheuer hat am 25.10.2018 in Berlin Sostmeier, sowie 33 weitere Unternehmen, zum Sicherheitspartner des BMVI ernannt. Die bereits im Juli gestartete Aktion „ Aktion Abbiegeassistent“ zielt darauf ab, die Einführung von Assistenzsystemen zu fördern und zu beschleunigen.
Sostmeier hat sich, wie alle aktuellen 44 Sicherheitspartner des BMVI, verpflichtet bereits vor dem verbindlichen Einführungsdatum auf EU-Ebene Ihre Fahrzeugflotte entsprechend auszurichten und Neufahrzeuge generell mit Abbiegeassistenten anzuschaffen.
